Disk Drive: "Location is not available" , <DriveLetter>:\ is not available. Access Is Denied

Hello All Readers,

I have a Laptop with Windows 8.1 Pro in it. It only has one HDD of 750 Gb. I cant access my three disk drives (partitions), which I applied Microsoft bitlocker to it about 2 Months ago, and know the passwords, recovery keys etc. Everything's working fine, when I for the first time today installed Windows Update. My PC when started after the windows Update, I could not access my 3 above said partitions.  All that was accessible were the Drive C (windows) and Drive H (non- bitlocked) and the remaining all locked. For this purpose I searched a lot of forums and applied almost every solution/fix. I restored my pc into an early time, safe mode, UAC settings, Tried to open bitlocker settings but clicking the manage bitlocker icon does nothing, Changed drive letters, Could not access the non-accessible drives Owner settings in Properties-Security-Advanced (there wasn't any security tab). Please I need to know how do I fix this issue, I have a lot of data in those 3 partitions. Thanks, Awaiting solution.

Regards,

can you access the data via a boot device such as Ubuntu distro? If so then your data is not encrypted and if you can't then it is still encrypted and needs to be decrypted.
Also could you send more information as to your problems such as screenshots etc.

Hi,

Have you had any other user account on this computer? Local account is also ok. Please try the different user account to see what's going on.

If you havent try to scan system files and disks by following commands, please run them one by one as administrator:

SFC /SCANNOW

chkdsk /f

Any error message please post back.

To narrow down the issue, please test whether this issue still happen in Safe mode.

Meanwhile, we can try Process monitor tool to check the access denied issue as following article:
